AUT International Scholarships - Semester 1 2026
Brief Description:
Auckland University of Technology (AUT) provides scholarships to recognise and support high achieving international students as they begin their journey in becoming great graduates of AUT.
Applications for the following scholarships for students commencing their programme at AUT in Semester 1 2026 are open now until all spaces are filled or until 11:55pm on Saturday, 15th November 2025 (NZ Time).
Regions
South Asia: Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives.
Southeast Asia: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam.
North Asia: China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Mongolia, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and Republic of Korea.
Europe: Countries from the Europe continent.

Eligible students who wanted to be considered for an international scholarship will need to submit
one
AUT International Scholarship application form - their scholarship application will be provided to the Scholarship Panels to be considered for each scholarship for which they meet the eligibility criteria. Successful applicants will be awarded
one
scholarship only.
Description:
AUT International Scholarships are provided in the first year of full-time enrolment for undergraduate and postgraduate study.

Amount and Type of Award:
AUT International Scholarships are provided for the following levels of study:
Undergraduate Scholarships
A contribution to tuition fees of $5,000 paid in the first year of study.
Excellence Category
- contribution to fees of $10,000 paid in the first year of study.
High achieving undergraduate applicants with at least an equivalent AUT GPA of B+ or higher will be considered by the selection panel in the Excellence Category.
Business School
Undergraduate Scholarships
- Diploma in Business and Bachelor of Business
A contribution to tuition fees of $5,000 paid in the first year of study.
Dean's Merit Scholarships - Bachelor of Business
High achieving undergraduate applicants with at least an equivalent AUT GPA of B+ or higher in their last completed qualification will be considered by the selection panel in the Dean's Merit Category.
Contribution to tuition fees of $7,000 in first year, $3,000 in second year (Total value: $10,000) towards the Bachelor of Business degree.
Postgraduate Scholarships
A contribution to tuition fees of $7,000 paid in the first year of study.
Refer to the Appendix for eligible postgraduate programmes.
Doctoral programmes are excluded.
Tenure:
Refer to the specific regulations for the tenure for each category of award.
Important Information:
Eligible programmes are those listed in the appendix of the relevant Regulations - usually bachelor’s degree level or above (excluding doctoral) and 120 points or more in duration.
International students are not citizens, permanent residents nor resident visa holders of New Zealand or Australia.
The scholarship will be paid as a compulsory fees credit towards the first year of study at AUT on successful completion of the first semester of study of the approved programme.
AUT is not obliged to make an award if there is no candidate of sufficient merit.
The regulations are periodically reviewed by the University Scholarships Committee and are subject to change.
