AUT Doctoral Scholarship March 2022

Brief Description:

The purpose of the AUT Vice Chancellor's Doctoral Scholarships is to attract highly achieving doctoral research students to AUT University and to encourage and stimulate doctoral studies in areas of the University's research capability. 

Applicants will be asked to provide evidence of support from their potential supervisor or Head of School/Programme.  If you have not yet 
contacted your faculty please do so.

Amount and Type of Award:

The scholarship covers the following:
  • Annual payment of tuition fees (at the domestic rate) plus the compulsory student services fee
  • An annual stipend of NZ$25,000 per year


Tenure:

The scholarship is tenable for up to three years.  If a recipient has been enrolled for more than six months at the time of application the scholarship tenure will be reduced accordingly.

Important Information:

Applicants must have received an offer of place - either conditional or unconditional - for the PhD programme at AUT.  If you have not done so please contact either your Faculty Office (domestic students and those already enrolled in a programme at AUT) or the University Graduate Research School.

Applicants for the AUT Doctoral Scholarship will also be considered for one of the following Faculty or School funded options if the funding is available (see Faculty listings for AUT Doctoral Scholarships): 

  • A Full Fee Scholarship
  • Full fees plus an annual stipend of either $15,000, $20,000 or $25,000.
