Brief Description:

This award arises from an endowment from the NZ Contemporary Art Trust and is intended to foster greater understanding of and engagement with contemporary art in New Zealand, and encourage awareness of the benefits of art to society. The Award is available for a student enrolled in the third year or above of a degree or post-graduate degree in a visual art-related discipline at an NZQA-accredited tertiary institute in the Auckland/Northland region, who is engaged in work/research that explores the relationship between art and society. Applicants do not need to be art practitioners and applications are welcome from those who are engaged in study relating to any aspect of the visual art sector. The Award can be used to contribute to student fees and/or living costs.

Description:

The Award is available for a male or female student enrolled in the third year or above of a degree or post-graduate degree in an Arts-related area at an NZQA-accredited tertiary institute in the Auckland/Northland region. The Award is intended to contribute towards the payment of academic fees.

Amount and Type of Award:

One Award of $5,000 will be available for offer annually to contribute to student fees and/or living costs.

Tenure:

The tenure is one year only, however a successful applicant is entitled to apply for the award for subsequent academic years.
