PhD Scholarship MBIE - Te Hotonga Hapori - Urban Regeneration

Brief Description:

A PhD Scholarship is available in the topic area of ‘concepts of wellbeing and the impact of Urban Regeneration on Māori’. Te Hotonga Hapori – Connecting Communities offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a diverse team working in this critical area of research. The multidisciplinary and multi-university research team, led by Professor Scott Duncan, includes leading experts in community health and development, social geography, epidemiology, economics, urban design, Mātauranga Māori, and wellbeing assessment. Professor Tania Ka’ai, a Key Researcher, guides the team in Māori innovation and development, and Māori engagement and tikanga. This scholarship and resulting research will also be guided by Professor Ka’ai.

Amount and Type of Award:

A stipend of $30,000 per year plus tuition fees and compulsory student services fees.


Tenure:

The tenure is three years (subject to satisfactory progress).
